The Daytona Regional Chamber is now accepting applications for this year’s Small Business of the Year Award. The award, to be unveiled at the 3rd Annual Luncheon presented by Florida Hospital this November, is broken down into two categories; Small Business of the Year for companies with one to 10 employees, and Small Business of the Year for companies with 11-50 employees. The process started under the leadership of the Chamber’s Small Business Committee, and has grown in stature year after year. The application will be evaluated and critiqued by a third-party Chamber outside of the state of Florida, based on a series of best practices and strategies. To be eligible applicants must be a member of the Chamber and a for-profit organization.
Applications will be submitted to the Daytona Regional Chamber and mailed to the third party Chamber of Commerce outside the state of Florida to be critiqued for scoring. The top three finalists in each category will be announced prior to the luncheon, and featured in marketing material including (but not limited to) the Chamber website, local media, as well included in any mentions/updates regarding the upcoming event. The winners in each category will be announced during the Annual Awards Luncheon November 2, 2016 at The Shores Resort & Spa (from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.). Award winners will also be featured in outlets such as the Chamber Annual Business Report, as well as at the 97th Annual Dinner Meeting in 2017.
“The Small Business of the Year Award was implemented to recognize businesses in the region that are prospering due to a series of best practices”, stated Skip Lilly, Chair of the Small Business Committee.
The application can be found online here, and must be submitted no later than Monday, September 13, 2016, to the Daytona Regional Chamber offices (126 E. Orange Ave., Daytona Beach).
