The Daytona Regional Chamber of Commerce has announced it will present International Speedway Corporation (NASDAQ Global Select Market: ISCA; OTC Bulletin Board: ISCB) (“ISC”) with its prestigious Enterprise Award at its Annual Meeting February 9, 2016 at the Hilton Daytona Beach Oceanfront Resort / Ocean Walk Village.
With its headquarters in Daytona Beach, ISC is the largest promoter of NASCAR, hosting more than 100 racing events annually including the DAYTONA 500, rated as one of the Top 10 Most Valuable Sports Brands by Forbes. In 2015 alone, ISC hosted 53 major racing events at its 13 motorsports entertainment facilities throughout the United States. ISC’s agreements with sanctioning bodies including NASCAR, IMSA, IndyCar, ARCA Racing Series, NHRA, AMA Supercross and others speak to its international footprint.
ISC owns Motor Racing NetworkSM, the nation's largest independent sports radio network, and Americrown Service CorporationSM, a subsidiary that provides catering services, and food and beverage concessions. ISC also holds a 50 percent interest in the Hollywood Casino at Kansas Speedway.
In the summer of 2013, ISC embarked on the unprecedented $400 million DAYTONA Rising project transforming Daytona International Speedway (“DIS”) into the world’s first motorsports stadium. Known as the “World Center of Racing”, DIS will soon become the “World Center of Entertainment” when it opens in January 2016. The Speedway will add to its roster of events the inaugural Country 500, The Great American Music Fest at DAYTONA, as well as the 2016 Ferrari World Finals and additional sporting content.
“ISC’s pledge to community is a part of our heritage, not only in the Daytona Beach area, but in all of the communities in which we operate,” said Lesa France Kennedy, ISC CEO. “As a lifelong resident of Volusia County, I am proud of our commitment here to help bolster a bright future for generations to come. On behalf of our shareholders, our Board of Directors, and our employees, ISC is honored to receive this recognition from the Daytona Regional Chamber.”
In Volusia County, ISC is a founding member of the CEO Business Alliance, and ISC and DIS are members of the Volusia County Association for Responsible Development, Rotary of Daytona Beach and Tiger Bay Club of Volusia County. Their employees serve as active members of the Domestic Abuse Council, Boys and Girls Club, Stewart Marchman Act Foundation, Junior League of Daytona Beach, Halifax Habitat for Humanity, Halifax Hospital Foundation, United Way of Volusia Flagler Counties, and the Volusia Young Professionals Group. Annually, the organizations support a host of programs including the Winner Circle/Victory Lane Program in partnership with Volusia County Schools, Food Brings Hope, Speediatrics in conjunction with the Halifax Hospital Foundation, the Museum of Arts and Sciences, Support Our Troops, Volusia County branch of the NAACP, Second Harvest Food Bank, and Council on Aging.
ISC is also spearheading a development across from DIS – ONE DAYTONA, a premier mixed-use retail, dining and entertainment destination with Phase One planned to open in 2017. Phase One will include approximately 300,000 square feet with national anchor tenants Bass Pro Shops®, Cobb Theatres, and an exclusive Marriott Autograph Collection® hotel. Prime Group will serve as the project’s residential partner with a 250-unit rental apartment community planned for Phase two. ONE DAYTONA will quickly become synonymous with residents and visitors as the place to live, work, stay and play.
