The Daytona Regional Chamber constantly works to build stronger relations between Tallahassee and Volusia County. If we are to get attention at the Capitol, we need to be on their radar screen, thus the intent of our Tallahassee Speaker Series. This month, the luncheon will be held October 28, from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at The Shores Resort & Spa (2637 S. Atlantic Ave., Daytona Beach Shores).
Erik Braun, State Office on Homelessness, will inform our local business community of conditions regarding the homeless in other Florida communities. Governmental Affairs Vice Chair Len Marinaccio, Bomar Construction stated, “Homelessness is the major issue facing Volusia at this time and the Chamber is seeking outside resources for assistance. The Chamber hopes this luncheon will help draw the attention of the business community as the first step to generate additional interest and resources”.
The Florida Office on Homelessness, located in Tallahassee, is the central point of contact within state government on homelessness and coordinates the services of the various state agencies and programs to serve homeless individuals or families, or those facing homelessness.
The Council on Homelessness develops state policy and manages targeted state grants to support the implementation of local homeless service continuum of care plans. It also coordinates resources and programs across all levels of government, and works with private providers that serve the homeless and manage targeted state grants to support the implementation of local homeless service continuum of care plans.
