Chamber HobNob Presented by Bright House Networks - October 19th – Save the Date!

The Daytona Regional Chamber of Commerce will host its Twelfth biennial HobNob event on Tuesday, October 19th, 4:00 p.m. – 7 p.m. at The Daytona International Speedway. This year’s HobNob is presented by Bright House Networks. The University of Central Florida is also partnering with us as Gold Sponsor.

HobNob is an old fashioned political rally with plenty of good food, beverages and music and gives voters an opportunity to meet with candidates on a one-to-one basis. We have invited all candidates appearing on the 2010 ballot and expect strong participation.

A straw vote is also planned on several key elections and issues that affect the Daytona Regional Area including the Florida Gubernatorial election. The results of this straw vote will be announced at the end of the evening.

Sponsorship opportunities are still available and provide an ideal way to provide hands-on exposure of your products to other business leaders in our community.

Invitations will be out in early September. For additional information on this year’s HobNob event call Lindsey Saunders at 523-3672.

Travel With The Chamber - Journey to the Greek Isles

As part of the continuation of the Chamber’s Global Cultural Initiative, we will be traveling to the Greek Islands & Turkey during an 8-nights/10-day Cruise Tour, scheduled from March 30th through April 8th 2011. The Daytona Regional Chamber is partnering with up to 20 other chambers of commerce so space is limited. Act now!

On this once in a lifetime cruise tour we will be visiting six fantastic ports. Enjoy the ancient city of Athens, land of the gods, full of legend and history. Mykonos features traditional Greek hospitality, beautiful beaches, quaint seaside villages and an active nightlife. The fascination of Istanbul is sure to please, as it’s the only city in the world built on two continents (Europe and Asia). Every stone you turn here tells a story of the Ottoman Empire, the unlimited wealth of the Sultans and their harems. Next will be Patmos, which used to be an important place of pilgrimage and belonged to the Church. Visit Kusadasi, a major Aegean resort town. Explore the ancient ruins of Ephesus, the house of the Virgin Mary, Miletus, Didyma or simply relax and shop for handmade Turkish carpets. The incredible medieval city of Rhodes brings a strong history of the crusades and the Knights of St. John as well as beautiful, long sandy beaches, azure seas and Mediterranean breezes. Crete is one of the most famous Greek islands and often visited with Santorini. See the breathtaking views of the volcanic island of Santorini and its neighboring islands, whitewashed houses and the best sunsets in the world.

Prices per person begin as low at $2,349 and include airfare from Orlando, one pre-cruise night in Athens in a first class hotel (includes breakfast), half day tour of Athens including visit to the Acropolis, business meetings, superb cuisine each day, seven-night cruise aboard the Louis Cruise Line’s MV Cristal, exciting ports of call, deluxe motor coaches, baggage handling and transfers and professional hosts. All for one great price!

A $500 deposit reserves your space ($250 non-refundable) but Space is Limited So Don’t Delay! Reservations will be handled on a fist come first served basis. Call Linda Baker with the Chamber at 255-0981, ext. 221. or linda@daytonachamber.com

Chamber Business Links Golf Tournament Rescheduled!

Chamber Business Links Golf Tournament Rescheduled!

New Date - Wednesday, October 6th - 12:00 Noon -LPGA International

Due to weather conditions the Chamber Business Links Golf Committee has made the decision to move the tournament originally scheduled for Wednesday, September 29th - tomorrow- to our rain date of Wednesday, October 6th.

With cart-path-only conditions from today's rain and a 70 percent chance of rain tomorrow we have decided not risk a soggy experience for our sponsors and participants and instead take advantage of what looks to be better weather next week.

We also wanted to give everyone enough time to plan for tomorrow.

We will be reaching out to players and sponsors between now and October 6th to confirm details.

For information contact Kevin Kilian at 386-523-3676 or kevin@daytonachamber.com
