The Daytona Regional Chamber of Commerce is now accepting applications and nominations for the 2019 Small Business of the Year, Nonprofit of the Year, Young Professional of the Year, and Marvin Samuels Memorial Leadership Awards. Each year, the Daytona Regional Chamber presents a Small Business of the Year Award in two categories, 1-10 employees and 11-50 employees. In 2018, Wholesale Lighting was selected in the 1-10 employee category, while Intracoastal Bank was honored in the 11-50 employee group. New last year, the Daytona Regional Chamber also presented a Nonprofit of the Year Award. Council on Aging of Volusia County was the recipient of the inaugural honor.
These awards will be presented at the 6th Annual Awards Luncheon scheduled for Friday, November 1. In addition to those honors, the Volusia Young Professionals Group will present the Young Professional of the Year, won last year by Meghan Woodruff of Meghaphone Marketing. Also, the Leadership Daytona Alumni Council will honor a local leader with the Marvin Samuels Memorial Leadership Award. Bill Griffin of Halifax Health was last year's Marvin Samuels honoree.
