Eggs & Issues to Focus on New Projects at Embry-Riddle and their Potential Impact on the Local Economy

This month at the April Chamber Eggs & Issues program, Dr. John Watret, Interim President at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) will discuss new projects and programs, including $10 million in state funding that was approved in the recent legislative session.  The program will take place from 7:30 a.m. – 9:00 a.m., April 14, 2016 at LPGA International Clubhouse, 1000 Champions Dr., Daytona Beach.  Projects of particular interest include a $5 million appropriation for the construction of a new wind tunnel complex that will serve as a major anchor for ERAU’s research park. Another item to be discussed is an additional $3 million that was approved for the Gaetz Aerospace Institute to be applied to continuing a STEM education program in more than 70 high schools.

Len Marinaccio, Government Relations Vice Chair, stated "The Chamber has long felt this project could be a research component for major companies wanting to experiment with various vehicle projects”.
