Mark your calendars for March 21-22! Chamber members and local officials are encouraged to join the Chamber’s annual trip to Tallahassee for Volusia Days presented by Charter Spectrum, and sponsored by AT&T, Daytona International Speedway, Florida Power & Light and Gray Robinson, P.A. to meet with invited leaders Senators Dorothy Hukill, Travis Hutson, and David Simmons, as well as Representatives David Santiago, Patrick Henry, Paul Renner, and Tom Leek. Also invited are Enterprise Florida President Chris Hart, Visit Florida President Ken Lawson, Department of Economic Opportunity Director Cissy Proctor, and Assistant Secretary of Transportation Brian Blanchard.
This year, we will be teaming up with officials from across the county and the Florida Chamber to lobby our state officials on projects and issues related to Volusia County, such as economic development, tourism funding, water projects, road projects, education issues, and other projects of interest.
Cost is $60, which includes lunch on each day, and participation in the Florida Chamber's reception at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 21. Additionally, there will be a group dinner (pay on your own) at 7:15 p.m. on the 21st at Southern Public House, 224 E. College Ave., Tallahassee.
