BETHUNE-COOKMAN UNIVERSITY CELEBRATES HISTORIC INVESTITURE

Dr. Albert D. Mosley Becomes 8th President, Inspiring Service and Generosity

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (April 27, 2026) – Bethune-Cookman University recently inaugurated Dr. Albert D. Mosley as its eighth president during a traditional ceremony attended by dignitaries, alumni, community leaders and supporters from across the country as well as the world.

As part of the inauguration festivities, Dr. Mosley led more than 2,000 students, faculty, staff and alumni in a university-wide Day of Service. On April 13, volunteers mobilized to serve approximately 40 nonprofit organizations throughout Daytona Beach and surrounding areas, contributing a combined 8,080 hours in a demonstration of Bethune-Cookman’s commitment to servant leadership and community impact.

The investiture also inspired extraordinary generosity – shattering a special fundraising initiative launched in honor of the inauguration by generating more than $1.1 million for student scholarships.

“Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune built this institution on faith, purpose and the belief that education can change lives and transform communities,” said Joyours ‘Pete’ Gamble, Chairman of B-CU’s Board of Trustees. “Today, we honor that extraordinary legacy while embracing an exciting future under Dr. Albert Mosley’s leadership. His vision, energy and commitment to student success position Bethune-Cookman University to reach even greater heights in the years ahead.”
