Daytona Beach International Airport (DAB) is conveniently located on the east coast of Florida just minutes away from the “World’s Most Famous Beach” at the intersection of I-95 and I-4, two of Florida’s major interstate highways. Daytona Beach is only an hour’s drive from Orlando and the Kennedy Space Center.
DAB prides itself on being the most convenient, friendly and stress-free choice for air travel in the Central Florida region. The airport is currently served by three major air carriers which include Delta Air Lines, American Airlines and JetBlue. Commercial passenger traffic is growing at a healthy 8% per year and the airport is currently serving approximately 700,000 passengers annually. JetBlue is the newest carrier providing daily non-stop flights to New York.
DAB is served by three runways. The main air carrier runway is 10,500 feet and was rehabilitated in 2011. It is equipped with dual ILS approaches, LED lights and a concrete keel. The FAA tower is open 24/7 and is equipped with Tracon. With on-site fuel supported by the three Fixed Base Operators, fully staffed Customs operation and substantial air cargo facility, DAB has all of the amenities to support international manufacturing operations of all sizes.
Facilities at the airport are capable of supporting a full range of large commercial and general aviation aircraft. Nearly 40 tenants support the airport’s commercial and general aviation activities. Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, the airport’s eastern neighbor, uses the airport extensively for engineering and flight training education. DAB is also home to the Center for Innovation and Technology campus, which houses one of only three FAA NextGen Test Beds, focusing on the modernization of the National Airspace System. Right next door, the University of Central Florida a hosts Business Incubator which focuses on emerging technology start-ups.
The recent widening and improvements to Interstate 95 and I-4 have greatly enhanced the commuting experience for employees throughout Central Florida and have created a positive support system for a robust workforce.
