NEW PRESIDENT WELCOMES BETHUNE-COOKMAN UNIVERSITY SCHOLARS TO CAMPUS FOR FALL 2025 SEMESTER
Classes Began Aug. 18 with Uptick in Enrollment as ‘B-CU Rising’ Initiative Gains Momentum
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Aug. 20, 2025) – Bethune-Cookman University (B-CU) is starting the fall 2025 semester celebrating a new president along with an uptick in enrollment for another year, marking a pivotal moment in the university’s ‘B-CU Rising: All of Us, All In’ strategic initiative.
Classes started August 18, marking Dr. Albert Mosley’s first full term as the university’s 8th president – a role he assumed on July 7. In keeping with the university’s rich tradition of faith, he will bring students, faculty and staff together in prayer during his first Presidential Convocation on Aug. 20. It will be a time to reflect, unite and set the tone for the academic year ahead under the banner of collective excellence that defines ‘B-CU Rising.’
“We are writing a new chapter at Bethune-Cookman – one that honors the bold legacy of Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune while preparing the next generation of leaders to shape our communities and the world,” said Dr. Mosley. “‘B-CU Rising: All of Us, All In’ represents our unwavering commitment that every voice matters, every student succeeds, and every member of our community plays a vital role in our ascent to excellence. This a time of tremendous potential, and I am deeply committed to ensuring that every student who walks onto campus has the tools and support they need to rise together.”
Administrators say this is one of the strongest incoming classes in recent years, a testament to the university’s growing reputation for student success, culture and academic excellence – core pillars of the ‘B-CU Rising’ initiative. The ‘All of Us, All In’ philosophy emphasizes that the university’s success depends on the collective commitment of students, faculty, staff, alumni and the broader community working in unity toward shared goals.
That momentum extends beyond the classroom, with Bethune-Cookman University receiving nearly $900,000 from the National Science Foundation to upgrade its technology infrastructure – a significant investment in the tools and resources that will support students and faculty for years to come. This funding exemplifies the ‘B-CU Rising’ commitment to ensuring all students have access to cutting-edge resources and opportunities.
“B-CU Rising: All of Us, All In’ is more than a motto – it’s our roadmap to elevating every aspect of the Bethune-Cookman experience,” added Mosley. “When we say, ‘All of Us,’ we mean every student, every graduate, every faculty member, and every community partner. When we say, ‘All In,’ we mean fully committed to excellence in academics, student life, community engagement and institutional advancement.”
