Volusia Civic Ballet presents “The Nutcracker” ballet for three performances on Saturday, Dec. 6th and on Sunday, Dec. 7th at the Peabody Auditorium, 600 Auditorium Blvd.

Tickets are available for purchase at the Peabody Box Office (386) 671-3462 Monday through Friday 10 am to 5 pm or prior to the shows on Saturday and Sunday or online at www.peabodyauditorium.org or www.civicballetvc.org. Ticket prices range from $25 to $45 plus surcharges. Tickets purchased online will incur service charges from AXS. Avoid scams and purchase only from these websites or at the box office.

The online platform AXS now handles all online purchases for events at the Peabody instead of Ticketmaster.  AXS requires creation of an account first to minimize scams and resale of tickets by unauthorized parties. To simplify the process and to save on online fees, purchase the tickets at the Peabody box office.

Special guest artists from the American Ballet Theater in NYC will join the cast for the full two-act productions on Saturday evening and for the Sunday matinee.  Principal ballet dancer Skylar Brandt will reprise the role of Sugar Plum, and soloist San Woo Han will dance the role of her Cavalier.

In addition to the full-length productions, a condensed narrated Family Series show without the guest artists is offered on Saturday, Dec 6th at 2 pm. It is suitable for audiences with special needs, all levels of mobility, and young children as well as anyone needing a shorter show without intermission. The Family Series is just under one hour and provides a memorable holiday experience with several vignettes from Act I and a full Act II. No guest artists will appear at the Family Series show. The seating for the Family Series is general admission.

The always highly anticipated Children’s Sugar Plum Tea is offered on Saturday and Sunday for the matinee shows. The Saturday's Family Series will have one Tea before and a second Tea after the show. Children ages 3-12 will enjoy sweet confections and other holiday treats in a fairytale atmosphere with beautifully decorated trees and tables. A few of our Nutcracker characters will make an appearance to pose for photos to enhance the holiday experience. Only a child requires a Tea ticket to attend the Tea; however, only one adult per child may be allowed in the Rose Room if the event is sold out due to space limitation. Children’s Sugar Plum Tea tickets are $25 per child and are sold as a separate ticket (online it will show up as a separate event).
